What a cold one! But, I can't complain...this morning, the coldest place in the US is Jackson Hole, Wyoming....currently sitting at -2.2*F and a wind chill at -12.5*F, with another hour or so to keep cooling off. So, I'll take low 30's here in Del Rio.
Today, we will be experiencing temperatures well below average...near record lows in some places like San Angelo and Sonora. If you read my post last night about the Jet Stream....it's pushed south a bit and brought cold air with it (which trickles in from the higher levels in the atmosphere under High Pressure). This high pressure will keep skies clear, temperatures cool, and winds very light and variable.
Expect another cold one tomorrow morning, followed by a warming trend...70's by Wednesday afternoon so we can all defrost. But, with the warmer weather, we will see some cloudier skies and an increased chance of light rain showers as a weak disturbance scoots over the region Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Stay tuned for updates on this one...
