If you haven't already, see my discussion on the upcoming heavy rains and other hazardous weather.
Today through the region...mostly cloudy, windy, and light rain showers....won't see too much of a temperature swing from the morning to the afternoon because of all the clouds and surface relative humidity- so expect high temperatures today in the 70's. Rain showers are ongoing through the region....but nothing too significant. I don't expect heavier rain (especially through Hill Country) until tomorrow mid day through Sunday morning. North of the Interstate 10, over 4 inches of rain is possible through the weekend, while along and north of the Interstate 10, 6 inches or more is likely. South of the Interstate 10, 1-3 inches looks to be about it.
I do expect to hear a few claps of thunder this evening...nothing too significant, but cold air seeping into the region aloft will trigger some embedded thunderstorms. Stay tuned for updates on this heavy rain event. Be safe on the road!
