Cool temperatures to start off the day as the cold front has pushed its way all the way to the Gulf Coast. This has cleared out the region's low clouds, leaving us with partly cloudy skies, mostly in the higher levels and allowing the area to cool off to more seasonal-normal temperatures.
We can expect this to last through the day and into tomorrow morning, but look for increased cloudiness throughout the day tomorrow as a decent amount of moisture seeps in between 5,000 and 10,000 feet in altitude from the southeast. This will keep afternoon temperatures even cooler tomorrow than today by 5-10 degrees.
The National Weather Service is speaking to rain and thunderstorms over the weekend... I agree that there may be some isolated light rain showers through the region, especially Sunday afternoon, but it doesn't appear to be anything too significant. Monday evening into Tuesday looks to bring some heavy rainfall to the eastern half of the state....a quite vigorous storm system will drastically alter our temperatures during the middle of next week. Stay tuned!
